Hello! My name is Macey Miers and this is my 2nd year teaching 1st grade! I taught 3rd grade last year here at BTES and the year before that I taught 1st at J. Glenn Edwards (Sanford, NC). I am thrilled to be here at Boone Trail Elementary School with you all. It is very nice to be “back home” in the community that I grew up in. I moved to Harnett County about 12 years ago when my father retired from the military. 

I attended Highland Elementary School, Western Harnett Middle School and Western Harnett High School. At the start of my college journey, as a dual-enrolled high school student, I studied at Central Carolina Community College and earned my Nurse Aide I certificate as well as completed some general education prerequisites. I then earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Studies with a focus in Elementary Education from Methodist University (Fayetteville, NC), in December of 2022. I was also a collegiate cheerleader at Methodist for three years.

I have an amazing dog named Duke, who is a Yorkshire Terrier. My favorite hobby is reading and I am obsessed with all things Harry Potter.

Being a teacher and making a difference in the lives of each student I have the privilege of teaching is so special to me! It is my goal to teach my students in a safe and learning-conducive environment. I look forward to working closely with you throughout the school year.
