Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Crystal Brown

íHola! Bienvenidos a mi página. Me llamo Crystal Brown.
Hello, welcome to my website. My name is Crystal Brown.
I have taught English as a Second Language at various schools and levels for 25 years. Although I taught grades 3-5 in the beginning of my career, and middle school ESL for several years, I am currently enjoying teaching 9th through 12th grade English Language Learners. I call Fayetteville, NC my home town, but currently I live in Angier (Johnston County) just north of Harnett Central High School. I have my Master's Degree in Bilingual-Multicultural Education and my National Board Certification in English as a New Language. My family includes my husband and I, our two children, ages 17 and 19, and our toddler granddaughter. We also have 3 fur babies; a Chiweenie named Luna, a Mini Pinscher named Canelo and a Schnoodle named Sophie. I always seek to enrich my teaching and become a more knowledgeable advocate for my students.
I discovered my love of languages when I was young and studied both German and Spanish in college. During my undergraduate studies at Western Carolina University, I studied abroad in Mannheim, Germany to learn the language and find a deeper connection to my German mother’s family, which is still living there. I love to travel and explore other cultures and have visited 14 different countries. My favorite memories of exploration include brief visits to Greece and Egypt where I was able to see in vivid reality the places I had only read about in history books.
