I began my teaching journey in 2004 at Northern Granville Middle School, where I taught 7th grade math. I was fortunate to have great mentor teachers early on, including some who had taught me in middle school. In 2009, my family and I relocated from Oxford to Harnett County, and I taught 8th grade Math and Science at Harnett Central Middle School. In 2011, I transitioned to teaching CTE Business classes at HCMS, which ignited my passion for teaching. By 2012, I moved to Harnett Central High School as a Math and Business Teacher, covering subjects like Foundations of Algebra, Math I, Principles of Business, and Personal Finance. I served as the yearbook adviser for eight years and currently advise FBLA and the National Technical Honor Society. In 2017, I took on the role of Career Development Coordinator at HCHS, which has been the most fulfilling position of my career. I help students plan for their futures and explore various career paths that align with their goals and interests. I truly enjoy my job and assisting students in planning their lives after high school.

I have three children, all of whom graduated from HCHS: Madison, who completed her studies at Meredith College, and twins Matthew and Mia. Matthew began working at Temple Grading & Construction during his sophomore year through a summer internship, while Mia is now a freshman at UNCW. We also have two pets: a chihuahua named Bella and a Pit Bull named Bruno.

In my current position, I have loved learning about the many career options available to students after high school. I even discovered that my dream job is to be a "weather girl," and I hope to report on weather from the beach during a hurricane someday.
