My name is Chief Jonathan Denton.  I was born and raised in Harnett County and graduated from Triton High School in 1994.  After high school I attended Fayetteville Fire Academy.  I am a 29 year veteran of Coats-Grove Fire and Rescue, where I worked as B-shift Lieutenant.  I currently serve my community as the Assistant Chief of Coats-Grove Fire & Rescue and a Sergeant at Arms of the Harnett County Honor Guard. After a brief battle with Kidney cancer, I realized my calling to help the future of the fire service through teaching.  Over the years I have enjoyed teaching Fire Prevention at Coats Elementary School and working with people of all ages to in our community to better understand fire safety and prevention.  As Chief of Harnett Central High School Fire Tech Program, I am excited to challenge these kids with hard work, life lessons, and dedication it requires to be in the public safety profession.  When we are not at school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Kendra and our daughter, Jordanna, serving at our church, playing golf and hunting.
