JROTC

Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps

SY 2024-25

Courage, discipline, respect for others, integrity, loyalty, and selfless commitment are more than just words in a booklet or on a poster; they are what the Army Cadets stand for and what makes us stand out.

About Army JROTC

The National Defense Act of 1916 organized JROTC programs at public and private educational institutions. Today, JROTC is one of the world's most significant character development and citizenship youth programs. In 1964, Congress expanded the program to all military services. As congressionally mandated by Title 10 United States Code, Section 2031, each military service must have a JROTC program within secondary educational institutions to instill the values of citizenship, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.

Curriculum

The curriculum provides equitable and challenging academic content and authentic learning experiences while encouraging students to collaborate, reflect, develop critical thinking skills, and integrate content with other academic disciplines. Lessons include specific leadership, health and wellness, physical fitness, first-aid, geography, American government, and emotional intelligence modules.
