Harnett Virtual Academy was established in August 2021 to provide Harnett County students with an alternative learning option to the traditional brick-and-mortar school.  HVA is a full-time online school that serves students in grades Kindergarten thru 12th grade.  During the 2021-2022 school year, HVA served approximately 270 students.  HVA allows students and families to have flexibility and control over their learning.

Harnett Virtual Academy has partnered with Pearson to provide a rigorous online school.  Students enrolled at HVA take a full course load just like the students at the traditional brick-and-mortar schools.  Students are required to be self-motivated, self-disciplined, possess the desire to learn in an asynchronous learning environment, work independently, and exhibit good time management skills.
