What is the Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program?

North Harnett Primary's Spanish Language program is a 50/50 model. In this program, two homeroom classes are created with 24 students in each. Students spend one full day learning all content in English and then switch to learning all day in Spanish the next.
On their Spanish learning day, all instruction is provided by native Spanish teachers fluent in their language. On their English learning day, students learn just like a traditional classroom. As a result, immersion students develop language proficiency in both Spanish and English. The ultimate goal is for students to become bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural.

Do you value bilingualism and biliteracy?
Does your child need academic challenges?
Do you want your child to have an edge in tomorrow's market economy?
Are you willing to make a long-term commitment to the Spanish Immersion Program?
If you answered "yes" to any of the questions above, you may wish to consider North Harnett Primary's Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program for your child.
