Meet the Teacher
Mr. Nicholas Weitzel

Born in Indiana but spent most of my life as a vagabond living in Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Maryland, Alabama, and North Carolina. I spent the most time in Los Angeles and sometimes considered my hometown. I was a struggling musician and was once an employee at the Chinese Theater. I went back to school as an adult and was on track to become an academic, then decided I didn’t care for it and withdrew. Somehow, I became a public school teacher starting in the middle grades, then moving to high school. Thus far, I have taught 6-8 ELA and Social Studies and at the High School level: World History, Civics, Economics, American History, American Indian Studies, Sociology. In my private life, I enjoy reading obscure philosophy, playing chess, and hanging out with my bass guitar.
