Hello! My name is KasiLyn Duitsman but my students know me as Mrs.D. Like many of the families in our community I was raised in a military family and grew up all over the country. My family settled down in Virginia where I finished high school and attended Virginia Commonwealth University to obtain my Bachelor’s and Master's Degrees. I am currently in my 4th year of working in the school system, but my first year of teaching here in North Carolina. My husband is Active Duty Army and we are loving our time being stationed here in Fort Liberty. 

My educational philosophy is that who my students become is just as important as what they learn in my classroom. I am passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments and I have worked with diverse student populations, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet unique learning needs and utilizing innovative teaching strategies. In my classroom, I emphasize the importance of building strong relationships with students and their families, promoting social-emotional learning, and encouraging independence. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading and doing art and crafts with my 3 kiddos. I also enjoy working with various organizations in Fayetteville and Fort Liberty where I have the opportunity to serve underprivileged families in the community. 

Google Classroom is utilized for classroom instruction, communication and collaboration. Students use their Harnettstudents.org Google accounts to have access to assignments, resources, and content. Using the Internet, students have access anytime and anywhere to posted assignments, due dates, as well as supporting curriculum resources.
