This year, Black History Month gets a bonus day thanks to the leap year, and what a way to make it count! The brilliant 2nd graders at Anderson Creek Primary School took us on an unforgettable journey through time.
ACPS principal, Robert Breyer said “2nd grade classes wanted to take time to show appreciation of Historical African American figures”. He is extremely proud of all the students and staff who have worked hard to showcase our appreciation through song and dance. “They have also worked on reports to display during our Black History Wax Museum”.
Decked out in vibrant costumes that tell stories of resilience, courage, and triumph, our little historians sang their hearts out in a program dedicated to the heroes of Black History. Their songs brought history to life. These young stars shone brightly, reminding us of the rich tapestry that Black Americans have woven into the fabric of our nation.
A huge round of applause for our young performers and the dedicated staff who made this day possible. Let's carry the spirit of this leap year's Black History Month in our hearts all year long, inspired by the past to create a brighter, more inclusive future.
