Jamie West Appointed Principal of Coats Elementary School

LILLINGTON, NC – The Harnett County Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Jamie West as the new principal of Coats Elementary School. Her selection was officially approved during the December 2, 2024, board meeting.
Mrs. West brings over 15 years of educational experience to her new role. A graduate of Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, she recently completed her Master’s in School Administration at Campbell University. Her career spans various roles, including Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Overhills High School and Physical Education Teacher at multiple schools within the district.
Mrs. West has been recognized for her outstanding educational contributions throughout her career. Her accolades include being named Teacher of the Year multiple times at school and district levels and earning National Board Certification in 2018. She is also a dedicated member of professional organizations, including the NC-Adapted Physical Education Council and NCPAPA.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. West is passionate about fostering excellence in students and educators. She looks forward to collaborating with the Coats Elementary community to build on the school’s success and ensure a positive learning environment.
