Mrs. Daisy McDonald

Principal

Mrs. McDonald is a lifelong learner who has called Harnett County home for the last 15 years. After graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy, she worked in the psychology field for several years. After deciding to pursue her passion for teaching, she enrolled at Campbell University to obtain her NC Teaching License. It was clear from the moment she stepped into her first classroom that education was the path for her. Now, as an administrator, she looks forward to continuing to grow professionally and encouraging others to do the same.

Mrs. McDonald has 13 years of experience in education. She began her career with Harnett County Schools as a Lateral Entry teacher. She taught kindergarten at Anderson Creek Primary School for over 4 years, then transitioned to a 2nd-grade teacher at LaFayette Elementary, where she spent the next 6 years. During this time, she worked to obtain her National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. In the fall of 2020, Mrs. McDonald was selected for the Sandhills Regional Education Consortium as a member of the Principal Fellows Program. While completing her Administrative Internship at Lillington-Shawtown Elementary, she was appointed as Assistant Principal at Angier Elementary School and graduated with her Master's of School Administration from Campbell University. Mrs. McDonald considers it an honor to be able to serve the students, families, and staff as Principal of Angier Elementary School.
