BCES Family we are participating in a Gently used and new Coat drive along with Buies Creek First Baptist Church this week. We will collect coats through Friday and donate them next Monday. My goal is 50 coats from our school. Below (or above) is a graphic with more information. A printed copy will be sent home tomorrow when we resume the Tuesday Folders like we had done in years past. The Tuesday Folder is information from my office with important information. I may try to do my weekly phone calls on Monday and follow up with the Tuesday Folder written reminders. In a different ‘post’ later I am going to show ALL of the coats currently in our lost and found. If you see one that belongs to your child please let us know. Thanks for your help & as always Go Knights!

Good Morning Knights students, staff and parents. It was fun to see everyone again online this morning. I did miss two classes but, like sometimes happens, I had trouble with the links. Be sure in addition to your normal classroom work to check out Media, PE, Art and Music as they have great activities for today in their Google Classrooms. There are also archived lessons so check those out too! Mr. Levorse asked students to draw and color a tree that is swaying in the wind and answer the questions, how can wind be drawn?  Use some time to think about how to show wind and take a picture of your work and send it to him and your teachers so we can post it or reply. Work hard today. Go Knights!

I am excited about Donuts for Dads tomorrow! We continue to be blessed by our PTO for taking such good care of us. Thanks to those of you who provided snacks and drinks for Stock the Fridge for staff. Please mark the evening of October 6th on your calendar for an important PTO meeting to discuss their upcoming plans for our Harvest Festival and the Holidays. Tomorrow for donuts for dads we will be serving in the gym but eating outside so bring a towel, blanket or lawn chairs if you can. We will have seating at six of our picnic tables as well. Dad and kids will line up on the sidewalk in front of our school and as soon as our bus riders release at 7:45 am we will begin our serving line. We will guide you into the gym where you will be greeted and served, just follow the crowd. After breakfast you will leave through our double playground gates to the parking lot while students return to class ready to go to work. Thank you for all that you do to support our school and for sharing your child with us,

Hello Buies Creek Knights Parents and Staff this is Brian Graham, Principal of Buies Creek reminding you about our Open House / Back to School Night tomorrow evening from 4:30-6:30 pm. We will open our doors at 4:15 but will only allow you to visit the cafeteria for Bus Information or the Auditorium for Car Riders and to enter a drawing for a School Spirit basket at our PTO Table. Our PTO does an incredible job to support our students and staff. Everyone can help our PTO in your own special way so please stop by to talk with them about ways you can do that on site at our school and from your home or work. Campbell University will also be onsite to sell tickets for our Buies Creek Night at CU Football next Thursday evening, September 1st. Many of you have received letters in the mail or phone calls from your teachers. If so, anytime after 4:30 you can also report directly to those rooms. We will have our Support Staff positioned throughout the building if you do not know your teacher yet or if you need directions to your child’s classroom. The Gym and Media Center both will be closed so please limit your visit to the classrooms, cafeteria and auditorium. We will close the buiding at 6:45 pm. I look forward to seeing many new and old faces and can not wait to get the ball rolling on our 2022-23 school year. Thank you for all that you do to support our school and for sharing your child with us. Go Knights! See you tomorrow.

Amy Crockett (HCS Student Support Services Coordinator), Lauren Cappola (HCS Director of Counseling Services), Jan Rogers (CAC Director and Forensic Interviewer), and Jermaine White (HCS Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services) look on as Dr. Aaron Fleming (HCS Superintendent) signs the Memorandum of Understanding renewing the partnership between Children’s Advocacy Centers and Harnett County Schools. The CAC raises community awareness about child abuse and provides resources for the safety and protection of children. A multidisciplinary team, composed of CAC staff and representatives from all intervening agencies, frequently review active cases. Harnett County Schools Student Support Services staff serve on this multidisciplinary team to best support students and families who may be involved with the CAC. According to Jan Rogers, the partnership with HCS has optimized their ability to serve children, since schools are where children spend much of their time. Harnett County Schools is dedicated to the same mission and is thankful for Children’s Advocacy Centers for everything they do for our community. #TogetherWeServe #Children #ChildProtection #WeAreHarnett #SuccessWithHCS
