Rising 9th graders in the #SummerBridge enrichment program practiced their cooking skills in Ms. Grace Watkin’s test kitchen at Harnett Central High School.
Cooking classes provide students with essential skills that involve math, science, and language. The hands-on learning experience support socio-emotional and cognitive development, as well as enhance fine motor skills.
Ms. Watkins said that in her teaching, she aspires “for students to understand potential career paths they can explore, all while creating a comfortable environment within the classroom so students can freely express themselves”.
